UALR OpNote 015
Promotions – please join me in congratulating Peter (UAL615) on earning his Flight Officer’s wings, and also Matt (UAL340) on passing CaptQual.
New candidates – Please welcome new candidates Jason (vermount1998 – UAL195) and Joe (N5EB – UAL821) to the line.
Skype ON - Remember, please check Skype regularly! Even if you don’t leave it on all the time, please check from time to time if you intend to continue to operate with UALR and BVA. Simple. If you cannot receive messages on Skype, you cannot participate in UALR. Not only that, but if you are not communicating then you are missing 90% of the reason we are here… to interact with other pilots. If you are out of communication it will be assumed you are not interested and you will be dropped. On a related note….
Furloughs – In order to keep the dispatch ticket fresh and current with only the most active pilots a new furlough policy will be implemented. Pilots who have not flown within the last 30 days will be placed on furlough status. Furloughed pilots who have not flow after an additional 30 days will then be dropped from the dispatch ticket. This is NOT for the purposes of firing any pilots. This is so that dispatchers are aware of who is active and who is not. Nothing is more depressing than having a dispatch ticket full of 40 pilots and only 4 show up. Therefore going forward we will keep the dispatch ticket stocked with only active pilots. A furloughed or dropped UALR pilot in good standing may request to come back onto the dispatch AT ANY TIME – even after an extended absence. Remember, the furlough policy isn’t to throw anyone out of the airline, it’s to keep the dispatch ticket fresh. The solution? Stay in touch. Skype ON.
Reminders::
Online Dispatch – Don’t forget, dispatch tickets are now online and can be viewed at the Resource Center on the United Regional webpage on BVA. RouteFinder is also now online at the same location.
Flexible Dispatch Time – departure times are now considered flexible. However you will get best results if you strive to arrive at the target airport between 9:30 and 10PM EST. However if you cannot make that window, then just depart when you can. Thursday night will continue to be the usual United Regional group event, and everyone is encouraged to fly. Remember, your mom will be there. We’re giving her a ride.
