This conference will focus on holding patterns and we will have ATC coverage available for the event. There will be additional information prior to the event regarding what charts will be needed. PLEASE PRINT all needed charts prior to arrival and be ready to do business! Following the event you are also encouraged to fly the return trip back to KBOS and pick up ZBW passing between JFK and NEWES.

2. Promotions and welcomes – We’ve had a number of promotions this week. Please join me in congratulating Bill (UAL359) and Mariano (UAL225) on passing their FO checkride. In addition, these pilots were trained by other UALR pilots - Capt. Branden, and FO Conner – before being sent up for their checkride.  Which means that Capt. Branden and FO Conner are the first UALR pilots to earn a ruby pip for their wings under the UALR recruiting program. (see below). Please also welcome new candidates Tysmi (UAL126), Javier (UAL221), Zach
(UAL1256) and Ben (UAL383) to the line.

3. Recruiting – The UALR SOP describes that any pilot who recruits a new pilot to UALR, who subsequently passes their FO checkride, will earn a ruby pip for their wings. There are specific and rigid guidelines as to how recruiting can be accomplished which are outlined fully in the UALR SOP. Please send a skype note up to operations if you need a fresh copy of the UALR SOP. Recently the decision was made to slightly modify the criteria for to include awarding a pip to a FO who trains a candidate who subsequently passes the FO checkride.

4. ZBW Corner – Reports from last nights UALR event are good. The com repeating problem seems to have subsided, so kudos to all pilots participating for working on that. Also please note that effective immediately UALR will observe the newly mandated FAA taxi rules which essentially state that an aircraft must receive clearance to cross ANY runway – active or not! Controllers will work to give more detail in their clearances as to what runway crossings are authorized, but it will be the pilot’s responsibility to ensure that they are properly following crossing instructions, and/or holding short before crossing ANY runway.
